HISTORY

In 2006, coming fresh from mission work in the country of Spain, Matt Black became the pastor in Hanover Park, Illinois.  The first couple to come to the Lord were a Spanish speaking couple who he eventually performed their wedding: Jaime and Leticia Vela.  With that we began our Spanish ministry.  By 2009, we had several Spanish speaking  families attending as well as Bro. Luis Torres leading them.  We needed a place to meet.  God opened up the door for a Spanish ministry addition to our church.  With over 40 union volunteers from Leopardo construction and  a lot of help and sacrificial giving from our church and community, we were able to give an “extreme makeover” to an abandoned house next door.  The grand opening was in October of 2009.  By December 2011, the Spanish ministry expanded to become “Iglesia Esperanza” or “Hope Church” of Hanover Park.  To God be the glory!

Luis Torres is our director of Spanish ministries.

We exist to glorify God by bringing people to Jesus and membership in His family, helping them to grow and change in Christlike maturity, and equipping them for service to God in the local church and in mission to the world.
